RESEARCH ON GLUCOSAMINE & CHONDROITIN

As horses age, they lose some of their ability to repair and regenerate connective tissue and cartilage. The result is sore, stiff joints, typical of the symptoms of arthritis. Our Equine Performance formulas are manufactured from ingredients that are key to the growth of healthy cartilage and the long-term maintenance of healthy, pain-free joints.

The effectiveness of the key ingredients in our formulas; Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM has been proven through practical use by veterinarians, and also in many scientific studies published over the last two decades.

Glucosamine is naturally extracted from crustacean shells and Chondroitin is derived from bovine cartilage, MSM is a synthesized pharmaceutical compound. Extensive scientific testing and clinical trials both in the United States and Europe have shown that these maximum strength supplements can help rebuild healthy cartilage and increase the comfort and natural joint health of all working horses including professional race horses.

The following are a selection of peer-reviewed scientific research studies;

Title: “Evaluation of the Clinical Efficacy of Glucosamine and Chondroitin in the Treatment of Navicular Syndrome”

Horses diagnosed with navicular disease between the ages of 5 and 15 were given Glucosamine and Chondroitin for two months. A lameness exam was performed and within 28 to 56 days, there was a significant improvement.

Title: “Oral Treatment with a Glucosamine Chondroitin Sulfate Compound for Degenerative Joint Disease in Horses”

A study was conducted on 25 performance horses with cartilage breakdown of the hock, fetlock, pastern and cannon bone. These horses were administered Glucosamine with Chondroitin for six weeks. A significant improvement occurred within the first two weeks irrespective of the horse’s age, joint affected or use of the horse.
